Privacy Policy

Rusūkh combines private on-device storage with an account-based cloud backup. This policy explains what is stored locally, what is synced, which service providers process information, and how you can delete your account.
In short: we do not sell personal information, show advertising, or use cross-app tracking. Your saved or imported audio, profile photo, bookmarks, and coarse location stay on your device. Your account and selected progress data are stored securely so they can sync across your devices.
Information we process
Account information
Rusūkh uses Sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple account identifier and, only when Apple provides them, your name and email address or Apple private relay address. We use this information to create and secure your Rusūkh account. We do not receive your Apple ID password.
Synced learning data
When cloud sync is enabled, Rusūkh stores versioned snapshots of your memorization workspace, reading plan and progress, reading journal notes, streak, selected preferences, and an append-only memorization review history. Each record is tied to your Rusūkh account identifier. We use this data only to back up your progress, merge changes safely, and make it available on your signed-in devices.
Subscription information
Apple processes purchases and payment details. RevenueCat helps Rusūkh determine whether the Basic monthly or yearly entitlement is active. We process your Rusūkh account identifier, product identifier, entitlement status, purchase and expiration timing, and related transaction events. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Information kept only on your device
- A profile photo you choose.
- Saved memory-test recordings and Qur'an audio that you import.
- Saved ayahs and their local categories.
- A one-time, coarse location used to align the home screen with local daylight and Qibla-related presentation. Rusūkh does not use continuous or background location.
- Temporary practice recordings. These are used for playback during the current step and removed when you leave it.
These items are not uploaded by Rusūkh's cloud sync. Rusūkh does not send your recitation recordings to an AI service.
Internet audio and Qur'an services
When you stream recitation audio, word pronunciation, or chapter timing, your device connects directly to providers such as Quran.com / Quran.Foundation, Islamic Network, and QuranWBW. Those providers receive the IP address and standard request information needed to deliver the file. Their own privacy terms govern their processing.
Qur'an text, translations, and credits
The Tanzil Qur'an text and app translations are packaged with the app. Rusūkh identifies its text and license information inside the app under Credits & licenses. Loading those packaged resources does not send your reading activity to the source publisher.
Service providers
We use the following processors only to operate Rusūkh:
- Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, TestFlight, optional device backups, and Apple-controlled diagnostics.
- Supabase for authentication, account profiles, cloud progress, and secure server functions.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement status and purchase-event processing.
- Netlify to host rusukh.app; normal web-server logs may include IP address, browser details, requested page, and time.
We require providers to process information for their contracted purpose and under their applicable privacy and security commitments. Data may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to the safeguards provided by those services and applicable law.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Rusūkh contains no advertising SDK and does not track you across apps or websites. We do not run a third-party behavioral analytics SDK. Apple may provide aggregate App Store information and Apple-controlled crash or diagnostic reports according to your device settings.
Security and retention
Rusūkh uses authenticated access controls so each account can read only its own cloud documents. Cloud writes use revision checks to avoid silently overwriting newer progress. Data is protected in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit the data and access required to operate the service.
Cloud account and progress data are retained while your Rusūkh account exists. Local data remains until you remove it, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Operational logs and records that a processor or Apple must retain for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, or legal compliance may remain for the period required by law or that provider's policies.
Your choices and account deletion
You can review or change app permissions in iOS Settings. You may erase progress without deleting your account from Rusūkh Settings.
To permanently delete your account, open Settings → Privacy & account → Delete account in the app. This removes your Supabase account and associated cloud data, requests deletion of the linked RevenueCat customer record, signs you out, and removes Rusūkh user data stored on that device. If you cannot access the app, contact support@rusukh.app from the address associated with your account.
Deleting a Rusūkh account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it separately in Apple's subscription settings. You can also revoke Rusūkh's Sign in with Apple authorization from your Apple Account settings.
Children
Rusūkh is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect a child's personal information without the authorization required by applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information should contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Rusūkh changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required by law.
